A 2008 study published in the Journal of Nutrition reported that tuna oil significantly reduced damage to heart tissue in rats in which damage had been reduced.

According to Livestrong.com, tuna may lower the risks of stroke, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and kidney and breast cancer. It may delay or reduce the symptoms of arthritis. Omega-3s in tuna can help prevent obesity and improve insulin response, plus they reduce triglycerides and lower the level  of “bad” LDL cholesterol.
